amily Care Society offers a range of high quality services in the field of adoption, including:

·         family finding for specific children requiring permanent placement

·         recruitment and preparation of families for placement with babies, older children and children with special needs

·         preparation of the child, family and birth family

·         direct work with children, including life story work and preparation for placement

·         placement support for the child and the new family

·         post-adoption support for the child, family and birth family

·         counselling for girls and women experiencing a crisis pregnancy

·         short term foster homes for babies

·         counselling for relinquishing parents

·         counselling for adult adoptees, their birth families and significant others

·         counselling and support for former Australian child migrants and their extended families

Family Care Society is a voluntary adoption society working alongside Social Services in providing adoption services throughout Northern Ireland. The Chief Officer is responsible for the management of the work of the Society which employs a team of 7 specialist social workers, based in our offices in Belfast and Derry.

Family Care Society is registered by the Department of Health and Social Services as an adoption agency. It offers a service to all sections of the community.
