amily Care Society offers a range of high quality services in the field of adoption in Northern Ireland, including:

·         family finding for specific children requiring permanent adoption

·         recruitment and preparation of families for adoption of babies, older children and children with special needs

·         preparation of the child, family and birth family for the adioption process

·         direct work with children, including life story work and preparation for adoption

·         placement support for the child and the new family

·         post-adoption support for the child, family and birth family

·         counselling for girls and women experiencing a crisis pregnancy

·         short term foster homes for babies

·         counselling for relinquishing parents

·         counselling for adult adoptees, their birth families and significant others

·         counselling and support for former Australian child migrants and their extended families

 

Family Care Society aims to enhance the dignity and well being of disadvantaged children, young people and families through the provision of a range of professional family care and adoption services. This work is rooted in our acceptance of Christian values.

 

Family Care Society is a voluntary adoption society working alongside Social Services in providing adoption services throughout Northern Ireland. The Chief Officer is responsible for the management of the work of the Society which employs a team of 7 specialist social workers, based in our offices in Belfast and Derry.

Family Care Society is registered by the Department of Health and Social Services as an adoption agency. It offers a service to all sections of the community.
